Education is a key to the future of Britain, and particularly the education of underprivileged children and newly arrived minorities. For that reason Briefings for Britain admires Katharine Birbalsingh’s Michaela School in London, which is a brilliant success in fulfilling her ambition to give our poorest children an education as good as that given to our richest. Incredibly, she has often been attacked, including by teaching unions and self-styled progressives. But we know of no attack as shameful as that recently orchestrated by the Labour front bench MP Jess Phillips, which Ms Birbalsingh considers racist. We are glad to publish her open letter, so that our readers can judge.
