Labour’s century long coalition melts. They blame Brexit to hide complete ignorance of what makes business and industry thrive.
Two thirds of their MPs have backgrounds in local government, pressure groups or lobbying. Today unions are largely for the public sector. Welfare claimants and Muslims are their other core support groups.
Labour want to rejoin a Europe that flirts with permanent recession. They claim polls show voters are on their side.
A much sounder test is the rare poll that asks would you rejoin Europe if one condition is adopting the Euro?
This accident-prone government is the most incompetent in my lifetime. Their path through history seems paved with banana skins. To give you a little perspective I was born on the 28 August 1940, a week before the first huge daylight raid on London by the Luftwaffe. Throughout a life of war and peace I’ve known many politicians, including several Prime Ministers and many Cabinet ministers in Britain, Canada and three other Commonwealth countries, two American Presidents and several other overseas leaders. When I look back and compare there is no other conclusion. A new leader will pursue the same out of date views read on their behalf by the King this month. The sooner this version of the Labour Party is extinct, the better.
Apart from crawling to the EU, Labour ‘govern’ so they cling on to the public sector, welfare claimants and Muslim votes – that’s their core support and why more and more money goes on welfare instead of defence. Only saving the Prime Minister’s skin has steered money to defence. This approach will grow worse as they compete with the Greens for the Muslim vote. The results are poisonous. To quote a recent edition of The Times, ‘If you’re a member of the Jewish community you’re six times more likely than anyone else to become the victim of a hate crime. If you’re a Muslim a hate crime is three times more likely to result in a prosecution than for anyone else.’ Labour has reduced the police to a party political tool. Meanwhile shop lifting is out of control. They allow this while running a litigation campaign against loyal military veterans and a political smear campaign against all those patriotic Britons who voted for Brexit. Bare-faced lies regularly are presented as facts. Watch that video of the Foreign Affairs Committee digging away until they get to the truth about how Starmer rewards his cronies by making them ambassadors.
I am astonished how Starmer went so far in the Civil Service and in such a demanding branch. His own judgement appears non-existent. Quite often he really doesn’t know the difference between right and wrong. The freebies scandal revealed this major fault at the start. Sue Gray’s appointment was another red warning lamp for it bordered on sedition. As a senior civil servant she pursued Boris Johnson on behalf of the Labour Party though incognito. Public servants attacked a prime minister to feather their own political nests. There ought to have been criminal charges over Starmer’s role in that episode, not leave the media to provide an informal judge and jury. Again, the Law was ignored thus a political weapon. No wonder my Swiss wife thinks we’re becoming like Italy!
Already he’s made so many appalling judgements, I’ve lost count. The latest is a wealth tax designed to hit elderly widows hardest and slam the brakes on house sales. As an example of group ignorance they are worthy of study. They seem to know nothing about commerce. If you tax companies until they make no money, they don’t keep struggling. It no longer makes sense. They shut up shop and go somewhere else. We read every day how previously profitable businesses, some for decades, are closing down. Labour is busy destroying British industry and commerce. Labour has taxed a wealthy economy to the brink of demolition.
Old Labour and New Labour were the same broad coalition of the left. Last month the working class voted for the champions of Brexit. The inevitable result, Labour were wiped out by the party created to make Brexit happen. Therefore the plot to force the British people back into the EU via a side door – as set out in the King’s speech – looks more like the present Labour’s suicide note. The King’s words confirmed for his people that Labour doesn’t listen to them because Auntie Starmer and his managers in Europe know best. British voters have heard this fairy tale many times. The Swiss pay 375 million Euros each year for their trade ‘reset’ with Brussels. Starmer’s bill won’t be less than £1.5 billion – a sum that would buy a new destroyer. We need more warships rather than money for EU annual holdups.
Why the Rush?
There are big questions of principle here – why should Britons once again pay taxes to Brussels when we voted to end that particular form of extortion? We voted to restore openness and direct control of our own destiny. Starmer is under pressure to leave Ten Downing Street because that’s been restored and it works. Why should we rejoin the EU without a General Election with that proposal on Labour’s manifesto? At present British exports to the USA – our largest individual market – face 15% tariffs. Scotch whiskey faces none. Join the EU and we’d face 25% tariffs on all exports to the USA. Potentially that’s a lot of hard working people on the dole because of the whims of Labour MPs whose backgrounds lie far from industry and commerce. The original demand for a second referendum was honest. The King’s speech is a series of stabs in the back from bad losers. Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage have both said they will overturn all moves to ‘reset’ – a word chosen surely to cheat the people.
Labour think British voters are simpletons. They really believe it was none of our business when Peter Mandelson was sent to Washington so he and Starmer could manipulate return to the EU prison cell and sell this folly to Trump. Anyone who looks at the opinion polls knows we are not that stupid. The Red Wall voted for Boris Johnson because he promised to get Brexit done. They voted for Starmer because he vowed that Brexit was a done thing and would not tamper with it. He lied. The people know.
Local votes provoke low turnouts but the results last week tell a serious warning. If Starmer or his replacement ignore the voters much longer Labour risks a breakdown of trust in Parliament. That could lead to riots, possibly far worse. We could face a return to religious warfare. I’ve lived in the Near East and its wars. I don’t recommend it. For months Iran’s embassy has been trying to murder our Jewish community and all they get from Starmer are the same limp words. We are fed up with people who call our choice in 2016 a disaster when its actually been rather a success. Starmer is a loser. He’s become a by-stander gaping at his own mess. Keep in mind that a significant proportion of British voters would sink those waves of rubber boats and stop the Muslim invasion overnight. Moreover, given that all the hotel bills for this alien mass attack never fail to land in the public’s in tray, we are long overdue a popular rebellion.
The reality is that Labour is living in the past. Strangled by over-regulation, Europe’s share of the planet’s economy relentlessly declines. The days when the Common Market without Britain equalled the United States GNP were seventy years ago. Todat almost the whole of Europe produces just about half as much as the United States. Already half the planet’s economy is produced around the Pacific Rim. We are well placed to grow our industry and commerce as members of fast growth Pacific trading groups. Our future is global and that’s where we should concentrate and on the Commonwealth.
What Labour dares not mention.
Labour obviously never talk to ordinary Germans. Most days, I do. And they’re worried. Is the economic wonder crawling to a halt, throttled by the French obsession for regulations? Germany struggles to restore its previous strong growth. Some even talk of Dexit. At present the Euro rides on the back of German trade and budget surpluses over decades. Remove German support and the Euro becomes worthless overnight.
What Labour and its EU mistress dare not utter is that the EU would demand that Britain gives up the pound and joins the Euro – on its terms – as an obligatory condition for rejoining.
Some polls show over 50% of voters opposed to killing the pound while only 36% would adopt the Euro. In other words only a third of voters are willing to join the Deutschmark under its new name. Such a decision should be made via a referendum, not by a Parliament packed with people whose backgrounds are mostly as far from private enterprise as one can get. Two thirds of Labour’s MPs frankly have not a clue of the pitfalls and bear traps the EU has dug along Labour’s path to rejoining. Be warned, with the end of the Pound Sterling comes the end of British sovereignty. Short of a revolution never again will the British people have control over their own affairs and fate.
When Germany and France signed a treaty to bring about the Euro there was no clause for leaving thus leaving becomes a violation of the treaty. Although there’s been talk of drafting an expulsion rule, presently anything is then possible, including big fines – which I suspect the Germans, quite rightly, would refuse to pay. Second, the treaty is designed to bring about the economic and political merger of all EU members into a centrally controlled super state with fairly high taxes. Behind our backs Labour prepares for life in the EU without the pound and our Parliament powerless. Third, and I believe this is the main reason why the EU Commission target us and the Swiss, when the Euro was launched Germany and France already had public pensions liabilities that were the equivalent of one third of UK GDP. In other words, British taxpayers were in their sights to pick up a chunk of the burden for German and French public sector pensions.
One advantage for Britain claimed by Brussels was the end of foreign exchange costs when trading with the EU but while this gave the EU a 0.4 % saving the figure for Britain was 0.1%. When you add the cost of changing every cash machine and shop till in the country there is no saving, rather a huge bill that was estimated at £ 30 billion twenty-six years ago. Inflation since 2000 has been a hundred per cent.
The European Court of ‘Justice’ will be back in charge as well.
Final Thoughts
We know now that Polanski couldn’t be bothered to register – he dodged paying rates – and vote. Andy Burnham’s arrogant choice for a bye-election should be set against the £5 million cost of the Manchester Mayoral election,
May I suggest it’s time for Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage to have a talk together. After all between them they won almost half the votes in the local elections. Reform are the local council for the bye-election in a constituency where 65% voted for Brexit. A rare chance to teach Labour’s EU pocket emperor a lesson on the anniversary of Waterloo? Plus a lesson in old fashioned good manners and to show some respect for the voters?
